Flight Academy

Set your sights on becoming a pilot!

With the WCCHS Flight Academy, high school students earn high school credit as they develop the knowledge and skills to prepare them for a private pilot's license after graduation.

Flight Academy first-year students participate in aviation-based field trips and learn to fly using simulators. After students successfully complete Flight 15, they register directly with CFI for Flight 25 and Flight 3, earn hours towards the ability to write the private pilot’s license (PPL) exam, and complete a project documenting their flight school experience.

WCCHS Flight Academy meets each Friday during the school year at CFI in Claresholm and is open to all Livingstone Range School Division high school students.

• Grade 10 — Flight 15 (3 credits), $2,500 (fee includes certified instructors, materials, and flight simulator time)
• Grade 11 — Flight 25 (3 credits), Pay-as-you-go flight hours with CFI
• Grade 12 — Flight 35 (3 credits), Pay-as-you-go flight hours with CFI
